BNV : কিছু কাল পরে, মোয়াবীয়, অম্মোনীয় ও মাযোনীয ব্যক্তিরা য়িহোশাফটের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে এসেছিলেন|
KJV : It came to pass after this also, [that] the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them [other] beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
YLT : And it cometh to pass after this, the sons of Moab have come in, and the sons of Ammon, and with them of the peoples, against Jehoshaphat to battle.
RV : And it came to pass after this, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
RSV : After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites, came against Jehoshaphat for battle.

ERVEN : Later, the Moabites, the Ammonites, and some Meunites came to start a war with Jehoshaphat.

BNV : কিছু লোক এলো এবং যিহোশাফটকে বলল, “মৃত সাগরের ওপারে, ইদোম থেকে একটা বড় সড় সৈন্যদল যাত্রা শুরু করেছে| দলটা কিন্তু ইতিমধ্যেই হত্‌সসোন তামর পর্য়ন্ত এসে গেছে|” (হত্‌সসোন তামরকে ঐন্-গদীও বলা হয়ে থাকে|)
KJV : Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they [be] Hazazon-tamar, which [is] En-gedi.
YLT : And they come in and declare to Jehoshaphat, saying, `Come against thee hath a great multitude from beyond the sea, from Aram, and lo, they [are] in Hazezon-Tamar -- it [is] En-Gedi.`
RV : Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar (the same is En-gedi).
RSV : Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazontamar" (that is, Engedi).
ASV : Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (the same is En-gedi).
ESV : Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar" (that is, Engedi).
ERVEN : Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "There is a large army coming against you from Edom. They are coming from the other side of the Dead Sea. They are already in Hazazon Tamar!" (Hazazon Tamar is also called En Gedi.)

BNV : যিহোশাফট ভীত হলেন এবং প্রভুর সাহায্য চাইবেন বলে ঠিক করলেন| তিনি যিহূদার সমস্ত লোককে উপবাস করতে আদেশ দিলেন|
KJV : And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
YLT : And Jehoshaphat feareth, and setteth his face to seek to Jehovah, and proclaimeth a fast over all Judah;
RV : And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek unto the LORD; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
RSV : Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

ERVEN : Jehoshaphat became afraid, and he decided to ask the Lord what to do. He announced a time of fasting for everyone in Judah.

BNV : যিহূদার প্রত্যেক শহর থেকে লোকরা প্রভুর কাছ থেকে সাহায্য চাইবার জন্য জড়ো হলো|
KJV : And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask [help] of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
YLT : and Judah is gathered to inquire of Jehovah; also, from all the cities of Judah they have come in to seek Jehovah.
RV : And Judah gathered themselves together, to seek {cf15i help} of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

BNV : যিহোশাফট প্রভুর মন্দিরের নতুন উঠোনে যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমের সমবেত লোকদের সামনে দাঁড়ালেন এবং
KJV : And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
YLT : And Jehoshaphat standeth in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of Jehovah, at the front of the new court,
RV : And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court;

ERVEN : Jehoshaphat was in the new courtyard of the Lord's Temple. He stood up in the meeting of the people from Judah and Jerusalem

BNV : বললেন, “হে প্রভু! আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর, তুমিই স্বর্গের অধীশ্বর| বিশ্বের প্রত্যেক জাতি ও দেশের ভবিতব্য়ের তুমি নিযামক| তুমি সর্বশক্তিমান, কেউ তোমার বিরোধিতা করতে পারে না|
KJV : And said, O LORD God of our fathers, [art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest [not] thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand [is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
YLT : and saith, `O Jehovah, God of our fathers, art not Thou -- God in the heavens? yea, Thou art ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and in Thy hand [is] power and might, and there is none with Thee to station himself.
RV : and he said, O LORD, the God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and art not thou ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in thine hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee.
RSV : and said, "O LORD, God of our fathers, art thou not God in heaven? Dost thou not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? In thy hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee.

ESV : and said, "O LORD, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.
ERVEN : and said, "Lord God of our ancestors, you are the God in heaven. You rule over all the kingdoms in all the nations. You have power and strength. No one can stand against you.

BNV : হে ঈশ্বর, এই দেশের লোকদের তুমি এই স্থান পরিত্যাগ করতে বাধ্য করেছিলে এবং তারা ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের কাছ থেকে পালিয়ে গিয়েছিল| তুমি বয়ং এই ভূখণ্ড চিরকালের জন্য তোমার বন্ধু অব্রাহামের উত্তরপুরুষদের হাতে তুলে দিয়েছিলে|
KJV : [Art] not thou our God, [who] didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
YLT : `Art not Thou our God? Thou hast dispossessed the inhabitants of this land from before Thy people Israel, and dost give it to the seed of Abraham Thy friend to the age,
RV : Didst not thou, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

ERVEN : You are our God! You forced the people living in this land to leave. You did this in front of your people Israel. You gave this land to the descendants of Abraham forever. Abraham was your friend.

BNV : তারা এই অঞ্চলে বাস করত এবং এখানে তোমার নামের জন্য একটি পবিত্র স্থান নির্মাণ করেছে|
KJV : And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,

BNV : তারা বলেছিল, ‘যদি কোনদিন কোনো বিপদ আমাদের কাছে আসে- তরবারি, শাস্তি, রোগসমূহ অথবা দুর্ভিক্ষ, আমরা এসে এই মন্দিরের সামনে, প্রভু তোমার সন্মুখে দাঁড়াব| যেহেতু তোমার নাম রযেছে এই মন্দিরে, বিপদের সমযে আমরা চিত্কার করে তোমাকেই ডাকবো আর তখন তুমি আমাদের ডাক শুনবে এবং আমাদের উদ্ধার করবে|’
KJV : If, [when] evil cometh upon us, [as] the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name [is] in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
YLT : If evil doth come upon us -- sword, judgment, and pestilence, and famine -- we stand before this house, and before Thee, for Thy name [is] in this house, and cry unto Thee out of our distress, and Thou dost hear and save.
RV : If evil come upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house, and before thee, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, and thou wilt hear and save.

ERVEN : They said, 'If trouble comes to us—the sword, punishment, sicknesses, or famine—we will stand in front of this Temple and in front of you. Your name is on this Temple. We will shout to you when we are in trouble. Then you will hear and save us.'

BNV : “কিন্তু এখন অম্মোন, মোযাব আর সেয়ীযের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের সেইসব অধিবাসীরা এসে ইস্রায়েলের আক্রমণ করতে উদ্যত হয়েছেন যাদের রাজ্য তুমিই বয়ং একদিন ইস্রায়েলীয়দের আক্রমণ করতে দাওনি বলে তারা রক্ষা পেয়েছিল| মিশর থেকে আসার পথে তোমার নির্দেশ মেনে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা সেদিন এদের ধ্বংস করেনি|
KJV : And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
YLT : `And now, lo, sons of Ammon, and Moab, and mount Seir, whom Thou didst not grant to Israel to go in against in their coming out of the land of Egypt, for they turned aside from off them and destroyed them not,
RV : And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and destroyed them not;

ERVEN : "But now, here are men from Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir. You would not let the Israelites enter their lands when they came out of Egypt. So the Israelites turned away and didn't destroy them.

BNV : অথচ দেখো আজ তারা তার কি প্রতিদান দিচ্ছে| তারা তোমার দেওয়া ভূখণ্ড থেকে আমাদের উত্‌খাত করতে আসছে|
KJV : Behold, [I say, how] they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
YLT : and lo, they are recompensing to us -- to come in to drive us out of Thy possession, that Thou hast caused us to possess.

BNV : হে আমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বর, তুমি কি এদের শাস্তি দেবে না? এই যে বিপুল সৈন্যবাহিনী আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে আসছে তার বিরুদ্ধে আমরা ক্ষমতাহীন| আমরা জানি না আমরা কি করব| তাই আমরা তোমার দিকে তাকিযে আছি|”
KJV : O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes [are] upon thee.
YLT : `O our God, dost Thou not execute judgment upon them? for there is no power in us before this great multitude that hath come against us, and we know not what we do, but on Thee [are] our eyes.`
RV : O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
RSV : O our God, wilt thou not execute judgment upon them? For we are powerless against this great multitude that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon thee."

ESV : O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."
ERVEN : Our God, punish those people. We don't have the strength to stop this large army that is coming against us. We don't know what to do! We are looking to you for help."

KJV : And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

BNV : সেই সময়, প্রভুর আত্মা য়হসীযেলের ওপর ভর করল| য়হসীযেল ছিল সখরিয়র পুত্র; সখরিয় ছিল বনায়ের পুত্র| বনায ছিল য়িযেলের পুত্র এবং য়িযেল ছিল লেবীয় মত্তনিয়ের পুত্র| এরা সবাই ছিল আসফের উত্তরপুরুষ| সেই জমায়েতের মাঝখানে,
KJV : Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
YLT : And upon Jahaziel, son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, hath the Spirit of Jehovah been, in the midst of the assembly,

ASV : Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of Jehovah in the midst of the assembly;

ERVEN : Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah. (Zechariah was the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah.) Jahaziel was a Levite from the family of Asaph. In the middle of the meeting,

BNV : য়হসীযেল বলল, “যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমবাসীরা এবং রাজা যিহোশাফট, তোমরা সকলে শোনো| প্রভু বলেন, ‘এই বিশাল সেনাবাহিনী নিয়ে চিন্তা করবার বা ভয় পাবার কোনো দরকার নেই কারণ এই যুদ্ধ তোমাদের নয়, ঈশ্বরের যুদ্ধ|
KJV : And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle [is] not yours, but God’s.
YLT : and he saith, `Attend, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and O king Jehoshaphat, Thus said Jehovah to you, Ye fear not, nor are afraid of the face of this great multitude, for not for you [is] the battle, but for God.
RV : and he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat: thus saith the LORD unto you, Fear not ye, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God-s.
RSV : And he said, "Hearken, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, `Fear not, and be not dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God's.
ASV : and he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat: Thus saith Jehovah unto you, Fear not ye, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but Gods.
ESV : And he said, "Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, 'Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.
ERVEN : Jahaziel said, "Listen to me King Jehoshaphat and everyone living in Judah and Jerusalem! The Lord says this to you: 'Don't be afraid or worry about this large army, because the battle is not your battle. It is God's battle!

BNV : আগামীকাল তোমরা সকলে গিয়ে এদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করবে| ওরা সীসের গিরিখাত দিয়ে আসবে এবং তোমরা তাদের য়রূযেল মরুভূমির পূর্বদিকে উপত্যকার প্রান্তে দেখতে পাবে|
KJV : To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
YLT : To-morrow, go ye down against them, lo, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz, and ye have found them in the end of the valley, the front of the wilderness of Jeruel.
RV : Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the ascent of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
RSV : Tomorrow go down against them; behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz; you will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel.
ASV : To-morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the ascent of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
ESV : Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel.
ERVEN : Tomorrow, they will come up through the Ziz Pass. You must go down to them. You will find them at the end of the valley on the other side of Jeruel Desert.

BNV : এই সংঘর্ষে তোমাদের যুদ্ধ করবারও প্রযোজন নেই| তোমাদের শুধু যে যার জায়গায় দৃঢ় চিত্তে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে হবে আর দেখো আমি কিভাবে তোমাদের আর যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমকে রক্ষা করি| চিন্তা করো না| আগামীকালের যুদ্ধে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে যাও এবং প্রভু তোমাদের সহায় হবেন|”‘
KJV : Ye shall not [need] to fight in this [battle:] set yourselves, stand ye [still,] and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD [will be] with you.
YLT : Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem -- be not afraid nor fear ye -- to-morrow go out before them, and Jehovah [is] with you.`
RV : Ye shall not need to fight in this {cf15i battle}: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed: tomorrow go out against them; for the LORD is with you.
RSV : You will not need to fight in this battle; take your position, stand still, and see the victory of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Fear not, and be not dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you."
ASV : Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: to-morrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you.
ESV : You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you."
ERVEN : You will not have to fight this battle. Just stand there and watch the Lord save you. Judah and Jerusalem, don't be afraid. Don't worry, the Lord is with you. So go out to stand against those people tomorrow.'"

BNV : যিহোশাফট তখন মুখ নীচের দিকে করে আভূমি আনত হলেন| যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেমের সমস্ত লোক প্রভুর সামনে আভূমি নত হল এবং প্রভুর উপাসনা করল|
KJV : And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with [his] face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

KJV : Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

ERVEN : There was a man from the town of Mareshah named Eliezer son of Dodavahu. He spoke against Jehoshaphat and said, "Jehoshaphat, since you have joined with Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy what you have built." The ships were wrecked, so Jehoshaphat and Ahaziah were not able to send them to Tarshish.
